Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my sign cost?

Due to the custom nature of many of our products we can’t give a general cost of your project. If you have concerns you can provide us with a budget and we can make you a sign that suits your needs.

Do I need a permit?
How much does it cost?
Do you I have to apply for the permit myself?

Municipal sign permits are required for most outdoor signs. Additional permits are required from the Ministry of Transport for signs facing the QEW and 400 series highways. Permit costs vary from city to city but it averages around a few hundred dollars, and The Sign Department can act on your behalf during the application process.

Can I submit artwork for my sign?

Artwork can be emailed, supplied via CD or thumb drive, or uploaded to our FTP site. Design services can also be provided.

How can I pay?

We accept company cheques, Visa, Mastercard, American Express & Cash. Ask us about preferred customer (NET 30) account.

How long will it take to have my sign?

Lead times will vary depending on season, type of project, and size of your project. Average turnaround times • Illuminated sign: 2-3 Weeks • Dimensional Lettering: 2-3 Weeks • Coroplast signs, banners, parking signs: 1 Week • Vehicle Graphics: 1-2 Weeks

Do you offer RUSH services?

We pride ourselves on being able to provide our customers with what they need, when they need it. You should take in to account however that the final result will always be better when adequate time is allowed for fabrication and installation.

Do you provide free onsite estimation services?

Absolutely. We need to see what you see. Where is the sign going? How visible? Are there any special requirements for installation? These are questions that should be answered when tackling a sign project. All of these questions we can answer for you, no charge.

Do you keep my information & graphic files for future use?

Yes, we maintain a large database with customer information and graphic files for up to 2 years once the job is completed. We do this so that future projects can be made to the same colour, style and standard as previous projects.

Do you do electrical work?

The Sign Department completes electrical work using a licensed partner. If electrical work is required for your project we can provide you with pricing and details.

What are your shop hours?

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Evenings & Saturdays – By appointment only
